Poor condition – threads coming loose. The 17th Century Dalmatic has a white silk background with a white cotton lining and pink Petersham ribbon ties at the shoulders. Edged with gold (metal) needle lace, the Dalamtic is heavily embroidered in gold thread, the embroidery is probably Portuguese. The embroidery design is of the House of Savoy Crest. |

History of Artefact |
Many priests have worn this. Partly floral in design – barley and flowers. The stitching on one seam has been replaced with large cat's teeth stitches, the lace on the same edge (about 19cm) is loose. The Dalmatic might have been one of David Stan Cliff's acquisitions. |
