Artefact Description	Leather bound, over a wooden (beech) base and in the form of a book. Copper alloy Gnomen. 10.3 x 8cm – size when it is closed. 48g in weight. Good condition. Missing its needle, mirror and glass.

History of Artefact	It is used for telling the time. - a pocket watch. Found on the main deck at the stern of the ship. It is German in origin. ‘Only someone who was quite wealthy would have an object of this kind. It was the Rolex of its day!’ Historian - Andy Elkerton
